About Me

I'm Emily, and welcome to My Imperfect Family!

I'm married to the love of my life who happens to be an electrical engineer/manager/all things problem solver.  We met while attending LSU.  He says he tried to get my attention for a year before we starting dating, but I honestly didn't know he existed.  Oops!  We were engaged 9 months after we started dating and were married 16 months later.

I'm a mom to four dashing children, 3 boys and a girl.  I never wanted more than two kids before they came, and now I can't imagine not having my large loving family.  I also told my husband I would never want to stay home with my kids.  Now, I love staying home and raising them.  My boys are all active and keep me busy.  My little girl was a blessing in disguise.  I never wanted to have a girl after having three boys, but God decided to bless me with her.  He knew what he was doing because she is a sweetheart.

We live in Texas, but my husband and I are transplants.  I grew up a Navy brat on the East Coast while my husband was born and raised in Baton Rouge.  We are die hard LSU fans.  Our blood runs purple and gold.  Geaux Tigers!

I write mostly about my life and family experiences.  I started this blog as a creative outlet for myself when staying at home with the kids, but it has grown to mean a lot to me.

I'm passionate about photography, writing, and living a healthy lifestyle.  I used to manage fitness programs and run special events.  I have a love for photography, and my kids are generally my subjects.  I hear, "Don't take my picture" more and more these days, but I do anyway :)  If you're interested in seeing more of my photographs, head on over to Emily Ingalls Photography.

I hope you enjoy my writing and musing on life!
